Hundreds of years ago, there lived in Anatolia, the country we now call Turkey, one of the most famous architects in the world. His name was Sinan and his magnificent monuments, especially his mosques, have helped to make the city of Istanbul one of the most beautiful in the world. To this day, thousands of people still travel to Turkey to marvel at the splendour he created.

This book tells the story of Sinan's life, how he rose from a poor family to become Sultan Suleiman 'the Magnificent's' Chief Royal Architect.

The author, Emma Clark, currently teaches at the Prince's Foundation in London. The illustrator, Emma Alcock, is a graduate of the Visual and Traditional Arts Department at the Prince's Foundation and exhibits regularly at the Cadogan Contemporary Gallery in London.
