In Ibn Battuta, Son of the Mighty Eagle, the young Moroccan traveller heads for India, but inevitably does not get there! Instead, he comes across a straw hut built for love, has an audience with a poetry-reciting Mongol Emperor, and crosses the shark-infested Red Sea in the company of some camels. In Yemen, his adventures are still not over, as he chews on a leaf which makes him forget his worries, and in Africa, he tastes two exotic and delicious fruits for the first time.
Ibn Battuta, Son of the Mighty Eagle, is the third book in THE TRAVELS OF IBN BATTUTA series. Written for children and young adults, with full colour illustrations, the series traces the travels and the adventures of the famous Moroccan traveller as he criss-crossed his way across the Eastern world in the 14th century.
Dr. Abd al-Rahman Azzam has an MPhil and Doctorate in Islamic History from Oxford University. The illustrator, Khalid Seydo is a Jordanian architect and illustrator based at the Prince of Wales' School of Architecture. He is also the illustrator of The Lives of the Prophets.
