In lbn Battuta and the Tatar Princess, our Moroccan hero find himself in Turkey, a land where the men are brave and where desserts are made out of chicken. No sooner does he arrive, than Ibn Battuta encounters Princess Bayalun who invites him to accompany her to Constantinople. It is a two week trip, enough time for Ibn Battuta to fall in love with the beautiful Tatar Princess and for him to pluck up the courage to ask her to marry him. The Princess lowers her eyes and is silent, and Ibn Battuta knows that his future happiness depends on her answer.

Ibn Battuta and the Tatar Princess is the fifth book in THE TRAVELS OF IBN BATTUTA series. Written for children and young adults, with colour illustrations, the series traces the journeys and adventures of the famous 14th century Moroccan traveller as he travels from his hometown in Tangier all the way to China.
