Ibn Sina (Avicenna: Prince Of Physicians, 980 - 1033 AD). In the history of the world, there have been wise philosophers, skilled doctors, great scientists and inspiring writers. Ibn Sina was all of these. He started life as a child prodigy and ended up as a master of medicine, mathematics, geology, philosophy, zoology and physics – to name just a few!

The author, Dr Reza Shah-Kazemi, received his Doctorate in Comparative Religion from Canterbury University, England and is a research fellow at the Institute of Ismaili Studies, London. The illustrator, Fatima Zahra-Hassan, who has a Doctoral Degree from the Prince of Wales Foundation, London, is an award-winning miniature painter in the Indo-Persian tradition.
